Thai Airways Check-in Information

General Check-in Guidelines

Travelers are encouraged to arrive at the airport a minimum of 1 (one) hour prior to scheduled departure for domestic flights and 2 (two) hours prior for international flights; however, arriving even earlier is highly recommended.

Web Check-in

You are able to check in online for your journey between 24 and 2 hours before your departure. Web check-in is also offered at Thai/Thai Smile Check-in Terminals. Visit the Thai Airways official site to explore the web check-in services.

Self-Service Kiosk Check-in

Kiosk check-in is an automated check-in option available at airports in Bangkok, Frankfurt, Copenhagen, London (Heathrow), and Tokyo (Narita). With this self-service feature, you may:

Select your preferred seat up to 12 hours before your flight takes off

Easily hand over your luggage at designated Bag-Drop Counters (Note: Bag-Drop Counter hours may vary by airport)

Mobile Check-in (Thai Airways App required)

If you're departing from Bangkok to any destination, you may either print your boarding pass at home (Home Printed Boarding Pass), or receive a Mobile Boarding Pass or Passbook Boarding Pass (for iOS devices), provided that you input valid travel documents needed for your destination at the time of check-in.

When departing from locations outside of Thailand where Advance Passenger Information is not mandatory and you provide appropriate travel documentation, you may print a Home Printed Boarding Pass using A4 paper.

Airport Counter Check-in

For international flights, Thai Airways advises arriving at the airport at least 2 hours ahead of departure. Boarding gates close 30 minutes before the flight.

Passengers flying internationally are expected to be at the boarding gate 45 minutes before departure.

These policies may differ, however, so you should check with Thai Airways for its timings, rules and procedure that may apply during check-in.
