Passengers traveling with KLM are welcome to bring:
General Hand Baggage Allowance
Economy Class
Hand Baggage
Economy Class passengers are allowed a maximum of
12 kg (26 lbs) of hand baggage.
Economy Class on European and
Intercontinental Flights:
• 1 piece of hand baggage, maximum dimensions
of 55 x 35 x 25 cm (21.5 x 13.5 x 10 inches)
• 1 accessory, such as a
handbag, briefcase, or laptop, maximum dimensions of 40 x 30 x 15 cm (16 x 12 x
6 inches)
Business Class Hand Baggage
Business
Class on European and Intercontinental Flights:
• 2 pieces of hand
baggage, each with maximum dimensions of 55 x 35 x 25 cm (21.5 x 13.5 x 10
inches)
• 1 accessory, such as a handbag, briefcase, or laptop, maximum
dimensions of 40 x 30 x 15 cm (16 x 12 x 6 inches)
Total weight limit for
Business Class is 18 kg (40 lbs).
General Checked Baggage
Allowance
Economy Class Checked Baggage
Economy Class passengers are permitted to check in a maximum of 23 kg (50 lbs)
of baggage.
Economy Class on European and Intercontinental Flights:
• 1 checked bag, with total dimensions (L + W + H) not exceeding 158 cm (62
inches) and maximum weight of 23 kg (50 lbs).
Flying Blue Silver, Gold,
and Platinum members, as well as SkyTeam Elite and Elite Plus members, can bring
1 additional checked bag of the same size and weight on flights operated by
SkyTeam airlines.
Please note that the Light ticket option does not
include checked baggage.
Business Class Checked Baggage
Business Class on European and Intercontinental Flights:
• 2 checked
bags, each with maximum dimensions of 158 cm (62 inches) and maximum weight of
32 kg (70.5 lbs).
Flying Blue Silver, Gold, and Platinum members, as well
as SkyTeam Elite and Elite Plus members, can bring 1 additional checked bag of
the same size and weight on flights operated by SkyTeam airlines.
Special and Oversized Baggage
You are permitted to carry
various types of special baggage. However, due to limited space on the aircraft,
it is important to reserve transportation for some special items at least 48
hours before your departure.
Baggage and Connecting Flights
If your flight itinerary includes a connection of less than 24 hours, your
checked baggage will typically be sent directly to your final destination. The
baggage claim tag provided at check-in will indicate the final destination of
your luggage.
However, if you need to collect and recheck your baggage
for a connecting flight, it will be necessary under the following conditions:
• If you have purchased two or more tickets from different airlines with
varying conditions.
• If your connection involves a transfer from an
international to a domestic flight (e.g., within the United States).
• If
you arrive at one airport and your connecting flight departs from a different
airport.
• If part of your journey is by bus or rail.
• When
transferring at Amsterdam Schiphol or Paris Charles de Gaulle airports,
depending on your ticket conditions, you may be able to collect your baggage,
though a fee might apply.
