A planned resort area Nusa Dua, is situated on the southeastern tip of Bali. In the early 1980s, the Suharto government and its associates in the Indonesian military realized that it would be advantageous to get hold of an area of the fast developing tourist industry in Bali.

To host international events at the highest level and to offer sufficient security for visiting foreign dignitaries, they developed this area where drinking water is safe and electricity supply is regular.

In the land of Nusa Dua many large American-style hotel complexes have been built and the development scheme released for business in the end of April 1986 when President Ronald Reagan arrived at Nusa Dua for a regional economic conference.

Tourists to Nusa Dua will received a special pleasure when the rich and exciting local culture of Indonesia has presented in a weeklong Nusa Dua Festival. The festival offer good opportunities for those who are travelling to Nusa Dua and for the surrounding community to realize the unique and colourful arts and culture of Bali in one set.
