Bandung
Bandung, Indonesia, is the capital of West Java province, and the country's
fourth largest city. Lying on a river basin, surrounded by volcanic mountains,
Bandung is a centre of industry and traditional Sundanese arts.
A major tourist destination, Bandung is visited by people from all over the
world. Host to the historic Asia Africa conference in 1955, Bandung is at
present a center of higher education, commerce and aircraft industry.
Bandung is also known by a number of other names. It is called “Kota Kembang”,
or the City of Flowers, referring to its beautiful women, and also, “Parijs van
Java”, or the Paris of Java.
Bandung is also called the “Kota Wisata Belanja”, or the Tourist Shopping City.
Truly a wonderful location, Bandung is a renowned spot for vacations, and
world-famous. There are many sites of interest in and around Bandung which

Husein Sastranegara International Airport, located about 5 km north-west
from the city centre and 2.4 km from Bandung Central train station. To make
arrangements for a taxi from Airport to city centre, contact one the taxi
operators or travel agents that have counter in the Airport.
