Young children traveling without a parent or legal guardian are considered to be
Unaccompanied Minors. If you are allowing your child to fly alone as an
unaccompanied minor, be sure to take every necessary precaution to ensure his or
her safety.
Children aged 5 to 16 traveling without an adult are categorized as
Unaccompanied Minors.
When booking a ticket for an unaccompanied minor,
ensure that the airline is informed so that necessary arrangements can be made
for the minor's care during their journey.
Unaccompanied minor tickets
cannot be booked online. In such cases, please reach out to the nearest ticket
office or global call center.
Passengers aged 12 to 17 cannot travel
alone with a child unless accompanied by an adult aged 18 or older. In such
situations, both passengers will be treated as unaccompanied minors, and the
appropriate adult fare will be applied to both. Please contact your local
SriLankan Airlines office to arrange such bookings.
Unaccompanied minors
must check in at the airport counter in person.
