Young children traveling without a parent or legal guardian are considered to be Unaccompanied Minors. If you are allowing your child to fly alone as an unaccompanied minor, be sure to take every necessary precaution to ensure his or her safety.

Young children traveling alone without a parent or legal guardian are classified as Unaccompanied Minors if they are between the ages of 8 and 11.

Conditions for Acceptance

• This policy applies to Philippine Airlines’ (PAL) Domestic and International flights, as well as PAL Express’ (PALex) Domestic flights only.

• For International travel, Philippine Passport holders must obtain an “authority to travel” clearance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Fees

An Unaccompanied Minor Service Fee (UMSF) will be charged for each flight segment and must be settled at the time the ticket is issued.

An Unaccompanied Minor identification badge will be provided at the departure airport for proper recognition, along with a special envelope containing all necessary travel documents for the child.

These policies may differ, however, so you should check with Philippine Airlines for a description of its rules and services and any additional charges that may apply.
