Passengers traveling with Malaysia Airlines can Check-in conveniently with the check-in options provided as below:

Malaysia Airlines Check-in Information

Online Web / Mobile App Check-in

You can check in online at www.malaysiaairlines.com. Follow the steps to complete your check-in and choose your preferred boarding pass option as listed below, then bring it with you to the airport:

• Paper Print
• Mobile Boarding Pass
• Apple Passbook

Web Check-in Timing:

• Web check-in: Available from 48 hours up to 90 minutes before your flight.
• Mobile check-in: Available from 48 hours up to 90 minutes before your flight.

Mobile check-in with a mobile boarding pass is only available for travel on domestic Malaysia routes and flights between Malaysia and ASEAN destinations.

If you have baggage to check in, proceed to the baggage drop counters:

Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA):

• At least 60 minutes before your flight for domestic flights.
• At least 60 minutes before your flight for international flights.

Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Sarawak airports:

• At least 45 minutes before your flight for domestic flights.
• At least 60 minutes before your flight for international flights.

If you are only carrying hand luggage, please show your boarding pass and identification at security and head directly to the gate (note: the boarding gate closes 20 minutes before departure).

Self-Service Kiosk

Passengers flying with Malaysia Airlines can check in using self-service kiosks at the airport. This service allows you to select your preferred seat and print your luggage tags and boarding pass. Afterward, you can either proceed to the baggage drop counter or head straight to the boarding gate if you have no checked baggage.

Self-check-in kiosks are available at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Kota Bharu, Johor Bahru, and Langkawi. Self-check-in is mandatory for all passengers, except for flights to Kathmandu and Dhaka.

Airport Counter Check-in

Present your travel documents at the airport counter, check in, and receive your boarding pass.

• Check-in counter closure: 60 minutes before departure for both domestic and international flights.
• Departure gate closure: 30 minutes before departure for both domestic and international flights.

Kuala Lumpur City Air Terminal (KL CAT)

If you are using the KLIA Ekspres train service, you can check in at KL CAT located within the KL Sentral station. You may also check in your bags – each piece of luggage is bar-coded for easy tracking and integrated with the KLIA baggage handling system. This service is available for passengers holding valid KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit tickets only.

Availability:

• Minimum 2 hours before departure for international flights.
• 1.5 hours before departure for domestic flights without checked baggage.

These policies may differ, however, so you should check with Malaysia Airlines for its timings, rules and procedure that may apply during check-in.
