Passengers traveling with Malaysia Airlines are welcome to bring:

To maintain a safe, comfortable, and convenient environment for all passengers, as well as to prevent excessive filling of the cabin overhead compartments, please adhere to the Malaysia Airlines cabin baggage policies and allowances outlined below:

NOTE

The above rules apply to all bookings made from 08 April 2019 onward. For reservations made before this date, the free baggage allowance specified on the passenger's ticket will apply.

For flights to Medina & Jeddah, the Economy Class Free Baggage Allowance (FBA) is 30kgs for all Economy Fare categories/brands.

Passengers flying with Malaysia Airlines may check in as many pieces of baggage as needed, provided the total weight does not exceed the maximum allowance for their cabin class. In addition to the FBA, passengers are entitled to a Cabin Baggage Allowance. Cabin baggage refers to the items passengers carry and store themselves within the aircraft cabin, typically in the overhead compartments. Please be aware that passengers are responsible for the care, custody, and control of their cabin baggage throughout the flight.

In addition to cabin baggage, passengers may also bring the following Additional Items on board for free, subject to certain terms and conditions.

If passengers’ baggage exceeds the free allowance, applicable excess baggage fees will be charged. Passengers may also choose to purchase prepaid baggage ahead of time.

Excess Baggage Fee

The charges for excess baggage will be calculated based on the zones, determined by the distance flown in a single journey, as follows:
