Passengers traveling with Japan Airlines are welcome to bring:
Carry-on Baggage
You are allowed to bring one
personal item (such as a shopping tote, purse, etc.) and one cabin bag, as long
as the total combined weight does not exceed 10kg (22lbs).
The dimensions
of the cabin baggage must be no larger than W: 55 cm × H: 40 cm × D: 25 cm (W:
22 in × H: 16 in × D: 10 in).
If your carry-on exceeds the permitted size
or weight, or cannot be stored safely in the overhead bins or under the seat due
to cabin space restrictions, it may be required to be checked at the gate or by
the cabin crew. Please ensure all electronic devices in checked baggage are
powered off. Do not place valuables in checked luggage.
Checked
Baggage Allowance
For international routes, Economy and Premium
Economy Class passengers may check two bags weighing up to 23 kg (50 lbs) each
at no extra cost. Business and First Class passengers are allowed three pieces,
each up to 32 kg (70 lbs). The total dimension for each checked bag must not
exceed 203 cm (79.9 in).
For domestic journeys, travelers can check up to
20 kg (or up to 45 kg in First Class) without charge, regardless of the number
of bags. Each item must not be larger than 50 x 60 x 120 cm.
Infants
flying on an adult’s lap are entitled to one checked piece with the same weight
and size limits as the accompanying adult’s baggage allowance.
Excess Baggage Fees
If your baggage exceeds the permitted
checked allowance, an extra charge of 20,000 yen (200 USD) will apply per
additional piece on flights between Japan / Asia / India and Hawaii / North /
Central / South America / Europe / Middle East / Africa.
On the same
routes, a single bag weighing between 23 and 32 kg will incur a surcharge of
10,000 yen (100 USD), while baggage between 32 and 45 kg will cost 60,000 yen
(600 USD). Oversized items will be subject to a fee of 20,000 yen (200 USD).
