Passengers traveling with Air China can Check-in conveniently with the check-in options provided as below:
Online Check-in
Adult passengers with tickets for Air
China-operated flights or e-tickets on flights where Air China shares its code
with Shenzhen Airlines, Shandong Airlines, or Tibet Airlines can check in online
via the Air China website.
Currently, special passengers—including VIP
passengers, passengers who are ill or injured, disabled passengers, pregnant
women, children, elderly passengers traveling alone, and passengers with special
service requests—are not eligible for online check-in. If you check in through a
third-party online platform (which is not an official Air China channel), Air
China cannot guarantee that you will have access to the full range of services
that you would typically receive. (Adults can check in for themselves and up to
two children on the same itinerary and in the same booking class. Adults must
cancel the check-in for accompanying children before they can cancel their own.
Children cannot check in on their own.)
Family online check-in is
available only for flights operated by Air China.
Online check-in times
vary by airport. For most international airports, online check-in is available
from 36 hours to 2 hours before departure.
Before departure: Boarding
passes can be reprinted on the Air China website up to one hour before
departure. After departure: Boarding passes can be reprinted through the Air
China website from 48 hours to 60 days after departure. Currently, boarding
passes cannot be reprinted more than 60 days after the flight. To protect
passenger privacy, Air China only supports reprinting boarding passes for Air
China-operated flights.
Self-Service Check-in
Self-Service Check-In Kiosks are available at select Air China locations,
including Osaka, Tokyo (Narita and Haneda), Frankfurt, London (Heathrow),
Nagoya, Stockholm, Vancouver, Hong Kong, Taipei, and Seoul (Incheon). You can
print your boarding pass directly from these kiosks.
After completing
Self-Service Check-In at the kiosks, you can check your baggage at an airport
check-in counter.
Self-service check-in times vary by airport, with most
international airports offering check-in from 34 hours to 1 hour before
departure. Self-service check-in kiosks are only available for Air
China-operated flights.
Airport Counter Check-in
Passengers should arrive at the airport well in advance of the minimum check-in
time. Please bring your valid passport, visas, and other necessary travel
documents used when purchasing your ticket. If you purchased your ticket on the
Air China Global Website using a credit card, please bring the credit card with
you. Ensure that all check-in and exit procedures are completed ahead of time.
The check-in counter closes 45 minutes before flight departure. For flights
departing from Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, the minimum check-in time is 45
minutes. For most other Chinese airports, the check-in counter closes 30 minutes
before the scheduled departure time.
To ensure you have enough time to go
through security, please arrive at the airport three hours before departure for
international flights and 90 minutes for domestic flights.
These policies may differ, however, so you should check with Air China for its timings, rules and procedure that may apply during
check-in.
