Denpasar is a place
that no traveler can ever miss! The reason? Well, Denpasar, or
rather its airport Ngurah Rai, is usually the point of arrival for
visitors to Bali, a major tourist destination in Indonesia. So,
Denpasar, is the place where they embark on a wonderful holiday,
and has today, become a major site to visit, in its own right!
Denpasar, was previously called Badung, after the district in
which it lies. However, when it became Bali’s chief town and
administrative center, as well as the seat of the governor of the
province of Bali, in 1936, it also took on a new name, 'Denpasar',
meaning New ‘Market’. Locally, the town of Denpasar, is still
known as Badung.
The capital city of the province of Indonesian island of Bali,
Denpasar, is a major tourist attraction. People from all over the
world come to this town, not just because it is the gateway to the
paradisal island of Bali, but also to see what it has to offer in
terms of tourist attractions.
